Vote for Mala Ocean Tavern in Best of Maui 2026-2027

The next stage of the Best of Maui 2026-2027 awards is here, and we’re excited to share that Mala Ocean Tavern has been nominated in multiple categories! Hosted by The Maui News, Best of Maui gives the community an opportunity to recognize the local restaurants, businesses, and people who make Maui such a special place.

Now, it’s time to vote! Voting opens September 28th and runs through October 18th, 2026, and we would be incredibly grateful if you would take a moment to vote for Mala in every category where you see us nominated.

In the Dining Experience category, we were nominated for Ambiance, Breakfast / Brunch, Business Lunch, Chef (Mitch Atwell), Fine Dining, Hawaiian Restaurant, Kid Friendly Restaurant, Patio Dining, Pau Hana Bar, Seafood Restaurant, Service, and Waterfront Dining.

In the Food & Drink category, we were nominated for Beer, Mai Tai, Plate Lunch, and Steak.

At MALA, we believe dining is about more than just a meal. It’s about the entire experience - from enjoying fresh, island-inspired food and creative cocktails to watching the waves roll in, spotting honu offshore, listening to music during Live Music Happy Hour, and sharing special moments around the table. Our team works hard every day to create memorable experiences for both visitors and our local community. From our kitchen and bar to our hosts, servers, and everyone working behind the scenes, every member of the Mala ʻohana plays a part in making each visit special.

Being recognized by our guests and our community means so much to us. Mala has been part of Lahaina’s dining community for more than two decades, and after reopening in 2024, we’ve been incredibly grateful for the continued support that has allowed us to keep serving our community from our oceanfront home on Front Street. Now, we’re asking for your support once again.
